New photos and videos… as a gift to myself?

Once again a late night/early morning here, but I suppose this one is special. I’m 22 today, the first birthday the doesn’t really lend it self to celebrating anything. 18, you could drink, 19, you could drink anywhere in Canada, 20, you were in your twenties, and 21, you could go to Vegas!!! But I’m going to celebrate being productive and getting some new stuff up. First off, you can check out my diddy of a timelapse from my cabin trip below.

Secondly, to the right, you can check out some photos of said cabin trip on Flickr, or you can click the link below as well.

I also have a couple new toys I will be putting to test soon. My slider rail just arrived yesterday, and myself and a couple co-workers took it out for a short test film this afternoon. And as I figured I would be, I was very impressed. I can’t wait to film something awesome with it. Like a war short film perhaps?

Me and one Mr. Clay Bakkum are planning on shooting a short war film soon, presumably some of it will be shot in the Stony Mountain quarries, since other more prominent war films have been shot there in the past (not actually sure which ones, but there have been big productions there!) That film will have to come together before his big move to New York in August, so here’s hoping!

1:00am seems like a pretty good time to wrap this up. Until next time

Building a camera bike mount (and getting back on the blog train)

So, on this early Friday morning, and still running on a caffiene high, I’ve decided that I need to become part of the blogosphere more. In my mind, I’ve decided this means two things:

    • write at least two blogs a week, and they can be as irrelevant and random as I want them to be
    • take the 7D out a little more for random photoshoots and shorts, to put on the interwebs for all to see

To aid me in this intiative, I’ve built myself a camera bike mount, in order to film a cool little short I have planned, on biking. I wasn’t really sure how to go about building said mount, but a quick visit to here helped: http://www.instructables.com/id/Bicycle-Camera-Mount-for-under-$1/

This is going to be my Sunday project, if the weather cooperates, and I don’t get to crazy out at my friend Mitch’s cabin on Saturday night ( I may just have to push through the pain, in order to be productive for myself). Stay tuned early next week for some pics and vids of craziness.

P.S. check out some of my co-Digihedron peeps’ blogs, if your into that programming jargon :p

    Ran a half marathon…

So this past fall, I gave myself the goal of running of running a half marathon. 7 months of training later culminated to me running my first one, which was the Winnipeg Police Service Half Marathon on May 2nd. I did pretty good for my first one, ran it in 1:59:59, and placed 532 out of 1400 some odd runners. It was a little rainy, but it was a nice day for a run, and a fun day at that. Thanks to the fam and Courtney for coming out to watch!

    Bonfires & BBQs (new photostream)!

Uploaded a new photo stream I’m gonna call Bonfires & BBQs! It’s going to serve as the gathering place of all the… well… bonfire and barbeques I take pictures at this year. I got some other themed photostreams I want to start, so I’ll try and get those up ASAP.

Welcome!

Well I'm glad to see you've found my site. That is me, a la droit (just getting a little French in there) This page is merely a portal into my world. See what I'm blabbing about, where I am, and what sort of crazy things me and my 7D are doing!

ENJOY!
